The hotel is located in close proximity to Wenceslas Square - the most popular square and centre of Prague. It was founded in 1348 on the occasion of the foundation of New Town (Nové Mìsto). It is one of the most visited places in Prague. Its dominating feature is the National Museum and the Statue of St. Wenceslas and other patrons of the Bohemian lands.
One of the significant events that took place on Wenceslas Square was the declaration of the First Czechoslovak Republic in 1918. In close proximity to the hotel there is St. Stephan´s Church which was founded in 1351 by Charles IV as a parish church and Rotunda of St. Longine, the smallest of the last preserved Prague´s rotundas, founded in the 12th century.
