Originally a traditional Georgian family townhouse designed by the renowned architect William Playfair, built in 1820, the Ailsa Craig Hotel, at number 24 Royal Terrace, is situated in a quiet tree-lined terrace in the city centre. The Hotel has been tastefully refurbished throughout whilst retaining many of the original fine architectural features.
Hotel is in a perfect location for both business and leisure guests. All main attractions (Palace of Holyrood, Playhouse Theatre and Princes Street) are within short walking distance.
Most of the hotel's rooms provide panoramic views over Royal Terrace gardens and out to the Firth of Forth, or the peace and tranquility of our private gardens to the rear.
Free Wi-Fi access within the hotel is available as an additional convenience to the business or leisure traveller.

Getting There:

By Road: follow signs for city centre, then for Leith. Hotel is situated off London Road, at the east end of Princes Street.
By Rail: from Waverly station exit onto Princes Street. Turn left on to Leith Street, pass Playhouse Theatre onto Blenham Place, which becomes Royal Terrace. Hotel is 200 m on the right.
