Art Hotel Miro Calenzano

"This was a very pleasant hotel which was well appointed and had helpful staff but as a tourist this was not ideally situated for someone without a car. It was a twenty minute brisk walk to the bus stop and then, on average, an hours bus ride to the station in Florence. The walk to the bus stop was down a very busy main road which had many lorries thundering past and also a narrow footpath which in places did not exist. The hotel was situated on a road junction and was sandwiched between another very busy road at the front and the back was very close to and overlooked a huge lorry distribution centre which appeared to be loading the lorries all day and well into the night. Needless to say they also started loading early in the morning. It was impossible to have the windows open during the evening, the air conditioning did not work, as many of the lorries kept their engines running! As I said before a lovely hotel but in an awful location. " - Anonymous

"Nice new Hotel - outlook not great but facilities excellent. About a 20 minute train ride into central Florence. Huge Bathroom and staff prompt but courteous. Secure parking for cars, good restaurant. " - John Arand
