Hotel Description:    Nestling next to the banks of the River Clyde in the heart of the famous Clyde Valley, the Best Western Popinjay Hotel & Leisure Club was built in 1882 in Tudor fashion. It takes its name from an imaginary bird connected with 17th century May Day celebrations in the area and described by Sir Walter Scott in his book 'Old Morality’. The hotel has always held a prominent position within the local community and over the years has expanded into the building that you see today. We have 33 well appointed bedrooms, restaurant and bar; lounge, conference and banqueting facilities for up to 200 guests and have just recently opened our new health and fitness club – 'The Valley'.
Choose to relax by the poolside, enjoy the sauna and spa, take a dip in the 18 metre pool or if you are feeling fit, use the state of the art facilities in the gymnasium and resistance room.
