"as a budget priced hotel it just about delivers what you expect, the location is great but inside, it is a very tired building. No lift and the stair carpets are very worn; probably dangerous!
Our shower worked ok but looked mouldy, the toilet didn't flush properly and there was no remote to the tv; blankets instead of duvets.
and the squeekiest floorboards I have ever walked on!

"A small informal hotel with limited facilities but good location and inexpensive . Staff are friendly and helpful." - Peter Howe
"We were a bit nervous before our stay having read some negative reviews of Bickenhall. However, our experience was overall positive. The location is great, the price great (for London) and the rooms were clean and adequate. Breakfast was excellent. The floorboards do squeak (as noted by others) but not a big problem. If you don't like stairs, ask for a room on a low floor (no lift). " - jane lawless
"we stayed here for 3 nights with our two young children. although the hotel location was fantastic there were several issues with the hotel. there was no lift and we had a push chair and were placed on the third floor. the hotel had a family cat and there were cat litter trays in public areas. there were rails on the stair case missing and stair carpet was loose. the room was a good size, the ensuite had a separte shower but there was mould evident in it and on the ceiling. the toliet seat was loose. the hotel says it offers tea and coffee making facilities in the room but there was no kettle. the bedding was clean but they were thread bare. there was a tv but the aerial was broken and the channels were limited no sky was available despite it being advertised. the breakfast was a basic english breakfast! we ate out our last morning. the staff were friendly enough and the price was fair though i would question the hotels rating wouldnt recommend and would not use it again." - Anonymous
