"What I loved most about this hotel was it's location. It was right in the middle of everything. My husband and I stayed here for our 10th wedding anniversary, and were wanting a shopping, cafe-ing, relaxed holiday and this hotel was perfect.
You get free fruit, newspaper and bottled water daily. Free chocolates on arrival. Light breakfast was also included in the deal we got ($157 per room per night, Feb 2008): cereal, toast, pastries, fruit, juice, yogurt, cheese, cold meats, coffee/tea.
On the down-side: the bed was lower on one side and the pillows were like fairy floss (beautifully fluffy until you lie on them and they go down to a dense thin mass that can't really be shaped into anything). Despite this, we would definitely stay at the Hotel Causeway again. It is great value for money, and an excellent base in the city." - Shelly Wotton

"This hotel is located in the city centre and is surprisingly quiet. I've previously stayed in hotels in Melbourne's 'Little' Streets and have found them to be noisy because they overlook bars and nightclubs. the Hotel Causeway overlooks a laneway of specialty shops so is quiet at night.
I stayed in an executive room for a long weekend. The room is quite spacious but nothing special facilities-wise (except for the bath - which I enjoyed!). While a continental breakfast was included in the price, I didn't eat it - instead preferring to eat out at several of Melbourne's excellent cafes.

From Tullamarine Airport, take the Tullarmarine Freeway to city. Exit at Flemington Road, continue along Flemington Road until you reach the roundabout. Turn right (south) to enter Elizabeth Street. Turn left (east) at Victoria Street and then right (south) at Russell street. Turn right (west) into Little Collins Street. Once you cross Swanston Street the hotel is located 100 metres on your left. |

Hotel reception is located in Howey Place off Little Collins Street and is open 24 hours a day. For early arrivals, if the room is not ready, bags can be left with reception. |

The hotel has an arrangement with Wilson's Parking located at 181 Little Collins Street. Cost is $16.00 per exit weekdays and $6.50 per exit weekends. Before collecting your car, please have your ticket validated by the hotel reception. It is preferable if driving to register at the hotel before parking your car. |
