"This hotel is not actually in Montecatini V di C but about one kilometre further at a place called La Miniera. This is confusing on arrival at one o'clock in the morning but the owner, [] was very helpful and somehow talked us on by phone and then waved from the balcony. [] cooks in the evening and there is another restaurant next door: Montecatini V di C itself only has a bar/cafe so the food options would be limited if you stayed a week. "This was a lovely haven to escape & relax in the Tuscan hills. Close to Montecatini (obviously) & Volterra, while being close enough to drive to Pisa for a day outing.
Restaurant witin the building makes lovely meals.
The staff were very friendly & helpful. They could not do enough for you.
The only things missing from the large room was a TV & Wi-Fi internet access.
Would recommend this to all & sundry as a peaceful retreat & base to explore the surrounding areas. We hope to come back again the next time we visit Italy." - Anthony Fish

Pisa Airport: S.G.C. FI-PI-LI to Firenze, exit PONTEDERA, after Pontedera-Ponsacco. At round-about direction VOLTERRA. Pass Peccioli, at La Rosa turn left on SP 439. Bear left at Villaggio San Giovanni d'Era direction SALINE DI VOLTERRA. After 9 km turn right to MONTECATINI VAL DI CECINA.
A1: direction Bologna, turn right to La Spezia, turn right to Genova/Livorno, immediately turn left to Livorno. Heading towards Rosignano/Roma, exit CECINA NORD. Take direction VOLTERRA, pass Ponteginori, after 2 km turn left to MONTECATINI VAL DI CECINA.
E35: direction Firenze, exit Firenze Certosa. Take Superstrada E76 to Siena, exit Colle Val d'Elsa. Follow directions to Volterra SR68. At Volterra follow directions to Montecatini Val di Cecina.
A12/E80 GENOVA/LIVORNO
Pass Livorno, continue to end of highway. Exit Vada-Rosignano. Take Aurelia E80 direction Grosseto, exit Cecina Nord. Follow directions to Volterra, pass Ponteginori, after 3 km turn left to Montecatini Val di Cecina.
