The hotel is located directly in the historical centre of Prague in the middle of Wenceslas Square. The square was measured in 1348 under the personal supervision of Emperor Charles IV. (1316 - 1378). It was formerly known as Koòský trh (Horse Market), for its periodic accommodation of horse markets and it was renamed Václavské námìstí (Wenceslas square) in 1848 on the proposal of Karel Havlíèek Borovský.
Thanks to its location between the Old and New Town and the total area of 45 000 m2 it is a place of social and commercial life, but also a place of many significant political events which have formed the Czech history.
In close proximity to the hotel there are many important cultural centres such as the National Museum and State Opera.
