"The South Pacific Hotel offered us a good room, but we were a little disappointed by the entrance. The hotel was being renovated and the make-shift reception at the ball-room was a little tacky. We were not aware of the location earlier.
Overall, the room was good (albeit a little pricey for the location and the fact that the hotel was undergoing renovation), service was also fairly decent. " - Vidya Murthy
"A clean and comfortable hotel with efficient staff. Although somewhat pricey, what you pay for is, perhaps, the hotel's ideal location. In Causeway Bay, and on the fringe of Wan Chai, it means you're mere minutes away from the some of the best shopping Hong Kong island has to offer. Once you step out of the main entrance, you're a stone's throw away from Time Square, the largest mall in Causeway Bay. Here you'll find almost everything you'll ever need. Perfect one-stop venue for those who are pressed for time but blessed with money for conspicuous consumption. Not to be missed are the local food shops that are within reach from the hotel. Forget American fast foods (even if McDonald's is never too far away!). Check out the small family-run eateries around the hotel and savour typical Hong Kong foods that are affordable and delicious. Nearby, too, is the MTR station, which means you can go further afield to do more shopping and eating!" - James Siow
"Very mediocre. Small rooms. Walls not quite sound-proof. Record-keeping system a bit disorderly. Needs better computerization to speed up the checkin and checkout process." - Anonymous
"I liked staying at South Pacific Hotel Hong Kong for the six nights I was in Hong Kong around the New Year 2008. The staff is attentive and they speak decent English. The cleaning service was excellent and they were willing to wait even until 1 pm to clean my room, if I indicated "do not disturb" on the panel by the door until I was just about to leave. The view from my 18th floor room was fine. The room is not huge, but plentiful for one person and would be fine for two people as well. The furniture is not very modern, but everything is functional and in decent condition. The bathroom, shower, bathtub etc were clean, everything was working as it should throughout my entire stay. The hotel can be a little hard to find, but once I consulted a map, it was just a 5-7 walk from the Causeway Bay MTR station (the Times Square exit). I didn't need to use any facilites, but I know a computer was available in the business center for about US$10 for 30 min or a bit less for 15 min. " - Anonymous
