"we found the hotel very good, our room was a little small but ok for a two day stay.my husband did hit his head on the light above the bedside table, the table being so low,and the light postioned alittle to high,it did make a cut,on reflection we should have reported it at the time but didn't think too,if he were not bald it might not have done so much damage, but after the shock it did cause me to laugh.
we had a great time and would use the hudson again, the food was also good. " - Patricia Jennison
"Fabulous location and nice staff, along with a great bar / restaurant. It had some key negatives however - particularly for a hotel that's not particularly cheap. The lack of airconditioning was a nightmare - it wasn't even warm in Edinburgh but the rooms were very hot and stuffy. The plug in fan provided was so noisy it was impossible to use overnight. SEcond negative was the bed - when booking a queen bed in a Club standard room that's what you should receive - not two single beds pushed together that don't even match up well. It was very uncomfortable and not right for a hotel in this price range. Also, getting laundry done takes two days - far cheaper places can turn it around on the same day. Overall, the hotel needs to improve on some of the basics that are required in this price range and star rating." - Sinead McAlary
"Complimentary glass of champagne each in the hotel bar was a nice idea. There is an excellent wine bar next door. Not pretentious with nice wines, food and atmosphere." - Martin Lee
