"The room was large, with balcony. They have yard to park the car with sufficient space, wireless internet access offered by external provider. The breakfast was very tasty, and the whole atmosphere of the hotel was family like." - Juris Kaimins
"Everything was beautifully presented, the tram line runs past the hotel the breakfast was superb, and the staff very friendly. On saturday and sunday when we were there the reception desk wasn't staffed after 12 noon due to being the low season but once you've checked in you have your own front door key.
If you arrive late for your check in they have a phone number and they will let you in remotely, But a great place to stay if you don't want all the bells and whistles of Five star service and amenities." - Kirsty Vogel
"Nice hotel, nice people, good price" - Anonymous
"The diplomat is a very basic hotel. It's clean though and pleasant. It cost me 80 euros for 2 nights in a single room so I can't really complain at that price. The room looked out the back, so unlike the other visiter I didn't hear the trams at all.
The rooms are well-worn though, that's why it's cheap I guess. It's fairly central but not right inthe middle (ie Altstadt). It would take you about 30 minutes I think to walk from the Altstadt to the hotel. It's only a few tramstops are two undeground stops away from heinrich heine (altstadt). They give you a key for the front door as well, so you can stay out all night. Breakfast was decent. There are also buzzers for the door, so it's more akin to a mini apartment than a hotel. There isn't always a person at reception though. I had to wait an hour until someone came but was my only grievance. Well worth the price however." - Alastair Hall
