"We were very impressed with the ambience in the hotel. The decor was tasteful and the location quiet and peaceful apart from the inevitable squawks from the pool when the children were around.
Service was very good as was the quality of food at lunch and dinner but the buffet breakfast was a bit of a bunfight.
The hotel is located about 5 to 10 minutes walk from the nearest beach which is one of a number of informal and attractive beaches in the area accessed by a paved but steep walkway.

HOTEL GARB is a family run hotel, open all year, situated in Calella de Palafrugell, on the picturesque Costa Brava coast, comprising of two wings: the newer Garb-2 in which there are 22 superior rooms equipped with whirlpool bath, air conditioning and balcony and the original Garb-1, in which there are refurbished standard rooms with parquet floor, air conditioning,balcony or terrace and complete bathroom. This diverse mix of rooms and distinctive wings enables us to offer our guests the contemporary, modern style of the new or the charmingly unique, character-filled old.
The Hotel Garbi stands in a beautiful large pine garden, where from Easter to the end of October our guests can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool with poolside bar and a terrace for eating al fresco. In the Winter our restuarant is open at weekends for lunch and evening meal with a menu that offers a mouth-watering selection of fine, fresh, homemade dishes. The Mediterranean temperatures and little rain make this the perfect setting for a truly unforgettable holiday.
The Serra family, who run the hotel, also own an award-winning Deli shop where there is a magnificently stocked Wine Cellar, with many fine wines and spirits, in which we can offer the opportunity of wine tasting sessions.
