The bathroom is private but right on the side of the room. The rooms of the Depandance are very quiet and spacious.

"The staff at this small hotel, inside the walls of Lucca, was very helpful. We arrived without directions to the hotel or a map of Lucca. We called the hotel in hopes they could help....they actually came to where we were so we could follow them to the hotel. They also recommended a restaurant close to the hotel. Since they made the reservations for us, we were given a discount on our bill that evening. You do have to leave the hotel for breakfast. They give you a voucher to use at a cafe only a few blocks away. " - Anonymous

The Bed&Breakfast Residence Santa Chiara is an ancient bourgeois house built in the second half of the 16th century, in the historical center of Lucca inside the medieval boundaries. It is located in front of the suggestive gardens of Bottini Villas, once residence of Elisa Bonaparte. From the Residence, you can easily reach in a few minutes, all the principal historical attractions of the old city and all other the beauties of Tuscany.
The residence offers a pleasant vacation with comfort and relax in an enchanting atmosphere from the medieval charm.
Restructured in January 2006, the Residence is composed by a principal block with all rooms with private bathroom and air conditioner and a dependance.
From may to October, it will be possible to have delicious buffet breakfast in the little new garden |

By Train:
If you are arriving by train, you can easily reach us on foot in about ten minutes from the railway station, or alternatively you may take a taxi. If you come walking, enter the town of Lucca passing from Porta Elisa, then turn right into Via Bacchettoni and then the first left into Via Brunero Paoli. At the end of the street, in the corner with Via S.Chiara, you will see our Residence.
By Car:
Highway exit at Lucca; follow the signs to the centre and the railway station (stazione); from here, keeping the town walls on the left, take the road around the walls and after the first bend, turn on the left and enter Lucca through the white town gate called Porta Elisa. Then turn right into Via Bacchettoni and then the first left into Via Brunero Paoli. At the end of the street, in the corner with Via S.Chiara, you will see our Residence.
