"My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. Although a little complicated to get to with a car, given the pedestrian rights when you hit the middle of Florence...this location was fantastic. It is located literally right beside the Gucci store and Piazza del Campo. It was central to everything you want to do in Florence. The B&B is simple...no bells & whistles but similarly no complaints or negatives. As many have said the breakfast is a pre-packaged type of thing, so if you are a big breakfast person, you should make plans to eat elsewhere. Residenza Giotto is a small and welcoming B&B with only six bedrooms, furnished with genuine antiques and modern items, each one with its own bathroom, shower, telephone, air conditioning/heating, coffee and tea facilities, Wi-Fi Internet access, Tv Lcd Sat and minibar.
The Residenza is on the top floor of a 19th century palace, with a lift, in the heart of historic Florence, opposite the Cathedral and Giotto’s Bell Tower.
These views can be enjoyed from your bedroom windows and from the hotel terrace, which is available to the guests.
It's proximity to the Train Station of Santa Maria Novella, the Exhibition Centre of Fortezza da Basso, and the Congress Palace, as well as all the main monuments and shops of Florence, makes it ideal for both those on business and those who want to fully enjoy the historical and cultural atmosphere of the town. |

From the airport of Florence:
by taxi (price 10-12 Euros); by bus to Florence Train Station (Santa Maria Novella)
From the Train Station Santa Maria Novella:
by taxi (price 5 Euros); on foot take Via Panzani and Via de Cerretani till Piazza del Duomo (the Florence Cathedral), then take on the right Via Roma (five minutes on foot)
By car:
from motorway A1 (E45) exit at Firenze-Certosa, follow directions to Florence City Center, cross Galluzzo and go straight on. After about 1,5 Km, at traffic lights turn right, cross the second one and turn left at the third traffic lights, follow the tree lined avenue up to Porta Romana Square. Cross the arch and go always straight on for about 1 Km, cross the bridge and go straight on. After the traffic lights go straight on for about 200 mt then turn right, cross the road and before driving in Duomo Square turn right in Via Roma. |
