"If all you want is a view of the lake, this is the hotel. On the downside the hotel and it's decor is dated. The hotel appears to be split into 2 parts - Ground floor to 6th floor and 7th to 10th. Try and avoid the 7th to 10th floors until they renovate the plumbing. It takes 10 minutes for the shower to warm up, and then the hot water lasts 2 minutes. " - Philip Smith

Hotel Description:    Situated on the shores of beautiful Lake Wakatipu, Rydges Lakeland Resort Queenstown boasts breathtaking views over the lake and surrounding mountains. Queenstown’s largest hotel is just a 5-minute flat walk along the Lakefront to the centre of town; with the airport only a 10-minute scenic drive away.
With 255 rooms, we have a variety of room types to suit all.
225 of our rooms have spectacular views over Lake Wakatipu to the Remarkables.
The Resort offers guests a range of facilities including:
Fully Licensed restaurant with outstanding views, along with a uniquely themed bar, opening out onto our Pool Deck, with an outdoor heated swimming pool and spa.

Getting There: Flying into Queenstown is an experience all in itself; once you have flown alongside the Southern Alps you will get a preview of the beautiful scenery of the Southern Lakes area - from the snow capped mountains to the glistening lakes. Flight time from Christchurch, the South Island's gateway, is about 45 minutes by jet. Direct flights are also available from Wellington and Auckland. Coach from Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill; along with car rentals are also popular was to get to Queenstown. Travelling by car to Queenstown Rydges Lakeland Resort is located on Lake Esplanade.
