"This place was absolutely loveley! A true boutique Hotel for a Backpackers price!" - Anonymous
"The Shakespeare has lots of character, genuinely friendly staff, and great beer! The attic room I was in, however, was small and pokey, and had none of the character expected. The walls were grey, the fittings were modern and sterile, the pictures on the wall looked like they'd been picked up in a garage sale for 50c. It was fine for a night's stay, but I wouldn't take a lady there." - Anonymous
"Only one night but I enjoyed my stay.
Check-in lady very helpful.
One of Auckland's best kept secrets. " - John Draffin
"No towels on arrival then had to wait 4 hours for 1 bath towel, didn't recieve any hand towels bath mats etc. Was told they were coming but didn't hear anything else. very noisey room, could hear everything from people talking, walking, traffic from outside all night long!,(and this was a sunday night) also only got channel 2 on the t.v. Overall a pretty bad experience, my advice spend the extra 30-40 bucks for a good nights sleep! " - Anonymous
