Formerely a manor house, over the years the Bower Hotel has been sympathetically extended and refurbished to provide first class public areas and modern, comfortable bedrooms, whilst keeping the original charachter and charm. Although less than a minutes drive from the M60, the hotel is set well back from the road, nestled in it's own grounds and has free parking for 120 cars. Many of the bedrooms overlook the pretty garden at the back of the hotel.
The Sheridan's restaurant is very popular with hotel guests and local residents and offers a wide range of original and exciting dishes, such as Shark marinated in Cajun spices or Duck breast with a black cherry and Kirsch sauce, and also a variety of traditional fayre, including the ever popular Sirloin Steak Diane, and traditional steak pie. With an extensive wine list and friendly staff, the Sheridan's Restaurant is one of the reasons why so many guests keep returning to the Bower.
The location of the Bower is perfect if you wish to visit many of the North West's attractions. Manchester City Centre with its huge selection of theatres, museums, shops and cosmopolitan nightlife is only ten minutes away, the vast shopping paradise of the Traffod Centre is about 30 minutes and Old Trafford, home of Manchester United is a magnet for many.
All in all, the Bower is the ideal place to stay, whatever the reason for your visit.

FROM CENTRAL MANCHESTER
From Piccadilly Plaza follow A62 Oldham Road for about 4 miles. When you approach a sign for "Housing Units" on the left hand side, get into the left hand lane at the traffic lights and turn left onto Hollinwood Avenue (A6104). Continue along the road going under the railway bridge past Mirror Colour Print, and the entrance to Morrisons supermarket. The Hotel entrance is on the left.
FROM OLDHAM
Follow tha A62 Manchester Road for about 1 mile until you see the Roxy Cinema on the left hand side. Turn right here onto Hollinwood Avenue (A6104). Continue along the road, going under the railway bridge and past Mirror Colour Print, and the entrance to Morrisons supermarket. The Hotel entrance is on the left. |
