These are great cities for touring! Most of it actually involves great walking energy. But to relate to this post, walking and touring great cities for hours, I found this article that can surely help us all trekkers.

Dr. Gotlin says if you have foot problems or diabetes, keep your shoes on. You need the protection offered by cushioned shoes. If you want to restore your body to the way nature intended, keep the others in the closet; bye bye Nike, New Balance, Reebok, Adidas and even Merrell and Keen. And, hello to the new “Not-Shoe”; with names like Toe Shoes, Vibram, Five Fingers and the latest Gistwear. Gist toe shoes seem to be the only we could find with a zipper – they stay snug; see: http://www.gistwear.com, ‘They stay snug; zip up to keep out the muck, zip down to cool off at the gym. They seem to do wonders to make muscles firm in the places most people care about – and fast!

Thanks for the push for our city. It is a very walkable city and some great tours. Nows a great time to visit too...with Mardi Gras parades starting on February 7th and lasting til Feburary 24th.

I like to get out of the city too and do swamp tours. Those are fun for all ages, and really interesting...not many cities can tote you a few minutes just outside of the glitz and glamour to see alligators and other wildlife. We do the swamp tour by Cajun Encounterhttp://cajunencounters.com/Swamp_Tour.html).

Come on down and visit y'all!
