Some noise and long queue for check in

i have to queue up for half an hour for checking in. the room they assigned to me is hot and humid, even i switched on the air con for 1 hour so i requested a change of room. it's fair, no big problem. at night it's noise, can hear whenever people walk by my door.

General standards are well below expectation

We stayed in Panda Hotel (Delux Room) for eight nights. The location of this hotel is not too bad as it is within 10 minutes walk to the nearest MTR station. A lot of shops and eating places at the basement level of the hotel building. However, the hotel is too old and so as the furniture within the room. The room including the toilet were not clean, although they were supposed to be cleaned by the hotel staff very day. There was a very strong fragrant odour in the hotel lobby and the hotel room. The odour was too strong that I found it unbearable. The windows were fixed and could not be opened. I spoke to the concierge and I was told that the odour was the result of the use of refreshers (to refresh the air) in all non-smoking areas (corridors and rooms). The bath tub drain was blocked on the first night of my stay and my feet were immersed in a pool of soapy water. This shouldn't have happened. The drain problem didn't get fixed properly despite it was reported to the hotel. Same problem was found the next day when we got back to the hotel at 10.30pm. We needed to make a call again and this time the duty manger came to our room with a technician to unblock the drain. The only good things about this hotel are the gym room and the swimming pool (including a sauna spa and steam room). The staff members there were very friendly, polite and helpful. As a conclusion, I will not recommend this hotel to anyone and certainly I will not stay in this hotel again.

Need for wifi

The hotel has everything one could want except free wifi. At 120 HKD for 24 hours internet connection it is extremely expensive. I actually had global roaming cheaper

BAD Booking

I booked "Executive room" x 2, but one room was down grade to "Delex roon". I did not check the conformation vulture (I just checked the confirmation of 2 rooms for 2 nights). This is my first time for such down grade and both rooms were SAME price. So, I had problem when I checked in but hotel could not do. Also vulture mentioned “1BA with Coffee/Tea maker”, Hotel did not know what is this especially “BA”. Bad experience!! (No feedback for Hotel)

This Hotel MADE our trip to Hong Kong

As we are NOT in the Packer or Murdock price bracket, we chose this Hotel for its Central location to the places we wanted to go & by Hong Kong standards, relatively inexpensive price. As we usually travel to Thailand or Bali, we chose to pay a little extra for an "Executive" room, which in most of Asia, is 1 step above very basic. Little did we know what we were in for !! On arrival, the Hotel lobby is ENORMOUS, with many well dressed & attentive Staff. #Lobby is on the 3rd Floor#. When we asked to check in, we were advised that "Executive" check in was on the 30th floor & were ushered to an Express Lift. The 30th Floor is a Special check-in where you are treated to very personal treatment from 1 of the 2 Executive check-in Staff, whose English is excellent. Check-in was fast & easy & upon receiving our Room number found the Staff arranged our bags to be delivered there. I have found myself that ALL Asian Hotels have very hard beds, which I don't like, so when booking I had asked for a mattress cover. #We received 2, which made the bed SUPER comfortable#. The room had a King Sized bed, which didn't allow for a bedside table on 1 side, but everything else was perfect. The rooms had been recently refurbished & were complete with Iron & Ironing Board & the usual slippers, dressing gowns, hair dryer, fridge with mini bar. Breakfast #Included# was in the Executive Lounge on the 30th floor, through a door behind the Reception area. A full assortment of Bacon, eggs, fruit, cheeses, juices plus some exotic dishes. ALL you could possibly want & as much as desired. We also were advised that there were "Cocktails" in the afternoon, from 5 or 6PM till 8PM. The "Cocktails", again in the Executive Lounge, consisted of unlimited Beer, Wine & Spirits plus an assortment of more food. The rooms had WiFi & the Executive Lounge had a couple of desktop computers, plus all day long Coffee, Tea & Fruit drinks available. Blue-ray player & Movies & plug adapters all freely available if required from Reception. "Under" the Hotel Lobby on the 3rd floor, were a few floors of shops, Supermarket & Restaurants. The Hotel is a 5 minute, #mostly undercover walkways# stroll to the Train Station & a couple of minutes to Bus Stops. After spending 2 days seeing all we wanted of Hong Kong, we spent the rest of our 6 night stay relaxing in the Hotel enjoying all it had to offer. Hong Kong itself didn't really "Do it" for us, but we would definitely consider using it as a Stopover place on long trips providing we could stay at the Panda. For the price we paid & the Service & Amenities I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone for GREAT Value for money.
